Progesterone rises after ovulation whether or not conception occurs, and it produces the same tender breasts, fatigue, bloating and mood shifts people read as early pregnancy signs. Symptom spotting cannot distinguish the two, which is why it so reliably produces false hope and false despair.
Practically: choose a test day in advance — usually the day your period is due — and hold to it. Serial testing from 7 days past ovulation adds anxiety without adding information.
Fill the time deliberately rather than waiting it out. Plans, movement, work that absorbs you, and time away from forums all measurably reduce how much space the wait occupies.
