D-Chiro Inositol

Myo-inositol's partner — powerful in small, precise amounts.

What it is

D-chiro inositol (DCI) is made in the body by converting myo-inositol via an insulin-dependent enzyme. It plays a role in glycogen storage and androgen synthesis. Because the ovary needs far more myo than DCI, the ratio matters more than the raw dose.

Why it’s used

  • Supports glucose handling and healthy androgen balance.
  • Restores the physiologic 40:1 plasma ratio when paired with myo-inositol.
  • Used alongside myo-inositol rather than on its own.

What research says

  • Research shows the healthy human plasma myo:DCI ratio is roughly 40:1, and formulations matching that ratio outperformed DCI-heavy blends on ovulation outcomes.
  • High-dose DCI alone has been associated with a 'DCI paradox' — worse oocyte quality at excessive doses — which is why balanced ratios are standard.

Typical dose: 100 mg daily alongside 4,000 mg myo-inositol (40:1).
